β€œAll education is self-education.”

This phrase has been attributed to different educational pioneers, and we have experienced the truth of it in our own lives and the lives of our children. We have all seen the spark of creativity, the self-lead discovery, the unprompted extra research into topics that delight our learners. At Enchanted Mountain Waldorf, we strive to honor that spark and give our students the time, space, and trust to learn in ways that are true to who they are.

Our students follow a five week β€œblock” schedule: after five weeks of lessons on a certain topic, we take a week off to rest and reset, to let the learning settle. For our older two classrooms, the chosen block topics will cover a range of school β€œsubjects”, as true learning does, and teachers will be available to help parents with required NYS school reporting, if needed. For example: during a block on Ancient Egypt, students will of course study history, but will also spend time learning about art, music, science, engineering, geography, world religions, and more.

Our main lesson blocks will in the mornings from 9:15-11:30. For the 2026-2027 school year, we are offering four classes:

  • PreKindergarten Class: ages 3-4, on Monday mornings

  • Kindergarden Class: ages 5-6 on Thursday mornings

  • Class One: ages 7-10 on Monday mornings,

  • Class Two: ages 11 and over on Thursday mornings.

We are also offering a monthly Parent/Toddler class for our youngest Waldorf learners, newborn through age 3. This class will be held seasonally and will offer a gentle introduction to a Waldorf lifestyle and education.
